This is a “GERMAN ONLY” post. This means the main text is in German, but we include shopping links if you are from other countries below.

AUTUMN TREND PART 1 – LONG COATS

This is the first trend post that I am excited to write about. Ever since  saw Karlie Kloss in this picture wearing a long coat, I knew this is the new fashion trend. Then I found more info about this online with bloggers who wore this style also.

Long coats are fashionable since Kim Kardashion wears them all the time and get’s shared with her look everywhere. I might also not like everything about her and her family, but I have to admit that her style is great. That might be, because Kanye created her style and I love everything that he creates.

HERE ARE SOME COATS THAT I FOUND FOR YOU ON MY SEARCH:

Asos, Nordstrom and Simply Be UK

Update: After checking Forever 21 again I saw the khaki coat worn by Denise Bidot.

WE WANT MORE PLUS SIZE BRANDS TO REPRESENT BIGGER SIZES!

english

I am thrilled to see how the most wanted plus size brand of the US featured a size 28 model for their newest lookbook. The plus size brand Eloquii started to feature bigger models for their lookbooks. This time they show plus model and blogger Emmicia Bracey. Though it’s not the first time they featured bigger sizes, it is for me the first time I saw it. And I loved it!

Second Model/Blogger: Reah Norman

If you ask me plus size brands should present more plus size women who are above size 16 also. I don’t want to exclude the smaller plus sizes, I just want to include the queen size women.
Why is this still so difficult to do?
Eloquii found them by asking bloggers to do this. Is this such a bad thing?
Honestly, bloggers are called the new fashion superstars for a good reason. Bloggers like me and many others we know how to pose. We try new poses with every look and we grow through our blogs. Bloggers are not only already proffessional enough to work with, but we represent also the real consumer. Mainly because we also consume like all the others. 😉 But yes, I like the idea of fashion brands using bigger sizes for their lookbook.

Eloquii is not the only brand who already did this. See below pictures of Tess Holliday who became a model for Monif C and pictures of German bloggers who presented their own designs for the brand Studio Untold.

Monif C is without any doubt also very trendy and everyone wants their looks, even we in Germany. Monif C and Eloquii proved both to be a hit for the consumers, because of their tredy styles.

Models: Tess Holliday, Jada Sezer & Kris Yeo

Studio Untold is a new German plus size brand which is also very trendy. Studio Untold asked several German bloggers to design outfits for them and the result are 5 great looks. Some of the bloggers like Theodora Flipper, Conquore · The Fatshion Café and Lisa Mosch are even some of my favorite bloggers from Germany. I can already predict that they will become Germany’s answer for Eloquii and I am very excited about it.

Dear owners of plus size brands, please don’t be afraid to present bigger sizes in your lookbook. Your consumers will not hate or criticize you so much for this. They will rather think: “WOW, I am so happy to see a woman in my size wearing the dress I always liked from this brand.” And then the consumer will think that the model still looks great even with her big tummy. And that is so much more important in gaining trust! This was just an example, but as a consumer I know how other women feel.

Style & Curve stands for plus size diversity, therefore we want to feature different sizes in the upcoming magazine issue. I hope many more brands will also change their way of thinking and start to understand that fashion is for all sizes, all ages, all nationalities, all religions… – ALL WOMEN LOVE FASHION!

1. How did you got into modeling?

A friends told me about this plus size contest that she insisted that I try out for. So I did and I found a whole new world and have been modeling since 09.

2. What do you habe to do with Arden’s Closet?

Arden’s Closet is actually my company. It is a pull closet for styling real size women for events, photo shoots or just everyday wear. I also offer personal shopping and Closet’s Cleanups. Every 3mths Arden’s Closet puts on a Sip n’ Swap where the FAB Plus Fashionistas of Atlanta get together and sip on Moscato and swap gently used or new clothing, shoes, hand bags and accessories.

3. Do you also offer shipping? In which countries?

No Arden’s Closet doesn’t provide shipping but when I have the yearly closet cleanup I do put Items up for sale and will ship anywhere.

4. What are your wishes for 2014?

In 2014 I want to push my self to the next level and work out side my box.

5. What was your best and worst experience in your life?

The worst thing that I have ever experienced in my life is losing my father at the age of 13. The best experience is when I realize that I have the best mother in the world and she is my best friend.

6. What do you like about yourself the most and what do you hate about yourself?

I love my determination the will to keep going even though people think I shouldn’t. I hate that I wear my emotions on my shelves.

7. Do you think the plus size industry need some more inprovement? which ones?

I feel this industry is improving but I wish the industry was more open to petite plus models in high fashion and mainstream and would not be so quick to shut you down because of your height.

8. What do you like about Style.& Curve?

I really enjoy Style & Curve because it celebrates women with curves in a positive way. It shows that women with curves have beauty & Style!!

Angelita's Thursday Blog

1375258_522185991197183_919900755_n
Hello Beautiful models and fans of CMR. It’s Angelita Aronce Sorensen here with my weekly blog. I received a wonderful email from a beautiful young lady who viewed my Costume and Cosplay album on my fan page asking where I get my great costumes. Halloween is sneaking up on us so I want to share this with all of you today. Regardless of your size or body shape, you can dress up as anything your imagination can come up with. There are your traditional types of characters that everyone knows or you can use your imagination and come up with a unique costume that you create yourself but would still be something the general public recognizes. I’m not going to go into the history of Halloween, only suggestions regarding dressing up.
I am sharing a collage of four of the costumes I’ve worn/modeled since 2010 and my latest costume is the Honey Bee costume that I just had a recent photo shoot in. Whether you’re a huge fan of dressing up or if you want something simple, one of my favorite sites to go to is www.buycostumes.com if you want something already made and ready to go. I recommend signing up with your email address so you will get notices of special sales or discounts. I’ve found costumes on clearance for as low as $4.99 and they can go up to roughly $400 and every price range in between. I just purchased a Firebird Costume on clearance that has a light up bodice a couple of months ago. I purchased this costume for my best friends and me. We had a group shoot in the costume minus one but it was still a great shoot. The costume is amazing and they had it available in the standard sizes including XL, which fit like a 1X. The regular price for this costume was $89.99 so it was an absolute bargain for $4.99. I can assure you that you will find something you like within in your budget.
Many of the costumes also have a video so you can have a 360-degree view of the costume and lots of the costumes also have customer reviews to help you decide if it’s the costume for you. There is also a sizing chart to help you choose what size to purchase. They also have the best exchange and return policy anywhere on the net in my opinion. You have nothing to lose, once you order the costume and get it delivered, if for any reason you don’t like the fit, the design, fabric or it just wasn’t what you thought it would be, you can return it hassle free and refunds generally take about a week to two weeks after returning it. I’ve ordered many times and I’ve only returned two purchases and received my refund very quickly. This site is based in the US but I’ve read reviews from customers all over the world happy with the customer service and the fast delivery times outside of the USA. Of course you cal also visit your local costume store and try it on before you purchase but in my experience, the selection is limited for us plus size beauties.
1209225_522195114529604_298741962_n1383561_670140773010289_746295822_n
If you’re more creative, use your imagination and let your creative juices flow. There are many hobby stores around and costume stores where you can purchase accessories to help you create your very own unique costume. Narrow down your ideas of what you would like to dress up as and google your idea. It’s amazing how many images you can find that can inspire you and create a version of your idea that is uniquely your own. Don’t be afraid to choose non-traditional accessories and if you know how to sew or know a great seamstress, having your costume made to fit you perfectly is another option. If you go to a tailor or seamstress shop, first sketch your idea or take photos to show them what you would like. They can tell you how much fabric to purchase based on your design and measurements then you can go to a fabric store and choose the quality of the fabric based on you budget. Many fabric stores will have coupons and you can even google coupons for a specific store online to get discounts on your fabric purchases. Purchasing the fabric yourself and only paying for labor will give you significant savings rather than just going in, telling them what you want. Now if you have a nice budget, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with sketching or showing your seamstress what you want and they can do everything for you from start to finish.
Your options are endless, you can purchase your costume ready made online or at your local costume store, you can create your own costume with your imagination and great accessories, or you can have something custom designed just for you. Regardless what route you take, you can have a great, fun, scary, beautiful, or unique costume to enjoy on Halloween or anytime. I personally love dressing up so any reason to wear a costume or play dress up I will take advantage of.
As always, please feel free to contact me if you ever have a question, suggestion or a topic you would like me to blog about. Send me an email to model.isis@gmail.com and if I know enough about the subject matter or can offer my personal experiences, I will be happy to do so. I’ll be back next week, keep chasing your dreams and stay positive!
